Jon A. Nixon is an experienced defense attorney who has represented clients in the full range of felony and misdemeanor charges. Mr. Nixon has successfully litigated a broad range of criminal cases, including drunk driving, state and federal drug trafficking cases, domestic violence, and sexual assaults.
Mr. Nixon's practice has a particular emphasis on defending allegations of assault against adults and children, DUI/DWI, and narcotics offenses. When a person in our system of justice is charged with a crime, they cannot fight for themselves, they need a lawyer who will stand by them through thick and thin.
Mr. Nixon has extensive experience in a full range of civil issues, including, but not limited to: Wills/Probate, real estate, personal injury and wrongful death, and workers' compensation.
Mr. Nixon has practiced before numerous courts in the local area and across the State of Georgia in various capacities. In addition to his private practice, Mr. Nixon currently is serving as Prosecutor Pro Tem for the Municipal Court of Warner Robins, Georgia, served as Indigent Defense Counsel for the Municipal Court of Warner Robins, Georgia, and has served as Judge Pro Tem for the Municipal Court of Centerville, Georgia and the State Court of Houston County, Georgia.
In order to more effectively cross examine many experts, Mr. Nixon finds it important to learn the science himself, that is why he has completed hundreds of hours of training dedicated to various areas of criminal law .
A 1967 graduate of the University of Georgia and 1969 graduate of the Cumberland Law School of Samford University, Mr. Nixon has deep ties to the local community where he has practiced for over 40 years. He is extremely active in various charitable endeavors and enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
